Baby Welcoming

As a mother of three, Rabbi Rain knows that welcoming a baby into the world is an incredibly exciting—and sometimes terrifying—experience.

Rabbi Rain is happy to craft an individualized ceremony that blends traditional elements with the personal and contemporary to welcome your baby into the world and into your community.

Rabbi Rain is happy to introduce the brit shalom as an alternative to a brit milah – a baby welcoming ceremony for boys that doesn’t include circumcision.

Like a brit bat (a welcoming ceremony for girls), a brit shalom ceremony is a way to welcome your baby into your family, community, and faith in a way that draws on traditional Jewish ritual while also remaining consistent with modern progressive values.
